Basic income pilot project pitched to Castlegar City Council

A Castlegar resident feels the city would be a great fit for a pilot project on basic income.

Greg Powell brought the idea to city council.

He describes it as a “guaranteed livable income”.

Powell says basic income could eliminate welfare and poverty.

He feels Castlegar is a good place for a pilot project as the area has stable employment and could provide a good sample.
