Castlegar’s Chelsea Norman and Kierra Cates conquered a marathon of Jiu Jitsu matches at the Vernon “All vs All” event on Sunday, September 22, bringing home a treasure trove of podium finishes in the process.
Norman finished the day with 12 submission wins and only 4 losses, earning four gold medals and a silver for her efforts.
Cates battled through 16 competitors, most of whom significantly out-weighed and out-ranked her, earning a gold and two bronze medals along the way.
The duo train out of Confluence Jiu Jitsu in Castlegar, and will be hosting a special Women’s Only Event on Oct 6 encouraging new women to try the sport of Jiu Jitsu.
