It doesn’t look very nice but the RDCK rural director for South Slocan says there is no danger to the public after a landslide last week on the river.
Heavy rains caused the slide on private land on the other side of the water from the Crescent Valley beach.
Walter Popoff says emergency officials and the Ministry of Environment have taken a look after quite a lot of debris and a number of trees came down.
Popoff says he hopes the RDCK will take ownership of the Crescent Valley beach area from the private land owner later this year. The aim is to make it a regional park.
