3 people were taken to hospital with injuries that are said to be not serious.
The collision occured on highway 3A near Ootischenia road at 3:47pm.
The pick up entered the intersection unexpectedly and the garbage truck swerved to avoid impact but was unsuccessful and was sent into a ditch.
