BC’s ageing population may be an opportunity and not a crisis according to one local politician.
Rural Nelson Regional Director Tom Newell notes BC’s over 65 population is expected to reach 24% by 2031.
But he says that benchmark has already been reached in Germany, Japan, and Denmark.
Newell was speaking following the recent Ageing In The Kootenays Conference.
