New Regional Fire Chief

The Regional District of Central Kootenay has a new fire chief.

Andrew Bellerby replaces Terry Swann who retired recently.

Bellerby was most recently in charge of mine rescue at Teck Coal in the Elk Valley and has extensive overseas experience .

Bellerby has had a lot of exposure to house fires and motor vehicle incidents.

He’ll also be responsible for emergency management and planning and sees his role as offering guidance and leadership to the eighteen district volunteer fire halls across the RDCK.
