The tide of population decline in Trail has been stemmed and efforts for the future are all about retaining and attracting people.
This from City Councillor Kevin Jolly as he reflects on the latest numbers from BC Stats which shows things have stabilized.
He says a number of projects in the Silver City, including the new pipe-pedestrian bridge, the Riverfront Centre Museum-Library and downtown revitalization efforts are all meant to attract and retain new residents.
Trail’s population is down by 4.5% since the 2011 Census, but the decline stopped in 2013 and since then there has actually been a small increase.
