UBC eyes masters program for Baker Street campus

The University Of British Columbia is exploring running a masters of education program out of their Nelson Baker Street campus.

UBC rural education expert, Professor Linda Farr-Darling says it’s a good time to offer teachers the opportunity to advance their qualifications.

The masters program would be an addition to UBC’s West Kootenay Teacher Education Program which trains professionals with an emphasis on rural schools.

Many teachers in this region who seek a masters degree go to Gonzaga University in Spokane.
