A well known regional cannabis advocate is calling on our local governments to make sure we’re not forgotten about when the feds legalize the industry.
Former Grand Forks Mayor Brian Taylor, who was also a medical grower, says small and medium sized producers should also share in the new economy.
Taylor says it’s not fair that a handful of huge corporate growers dominate the market which could push small growers underground.
He’s formally called on regional government to lobby the province to allow cannabis craft growing organisations that would be licenced much like micro-breweries.
