The NDP is calling on the federal Liberals to pick up the pace on electoral reform.
Kootenay-Columbia MP, New Democrat Wayne Stetski says they promised to have things ready within 18 months but there’s been little to show for it so far.
He says any new proportional representation system will need to be properly explained to Canadians, given issues with previous attempts in BC for example.
Stetski says his party has proposed a Citizens Working Group which would allot seats on the Parliamentary Committee. They say it should be proportionate based on the popular share of the federal vote last year.
