Logging death:Coroner identifies victim

The BC Coroners Service is confirming the identity of the local forestry worker who died Monday.

He was 36 year old Laurie Levy of Balfour. He died when he was struck by a tree off the Smallwood Creek Forest Service Road.

Levy was working as a chokerman – the person who attaches the choker and steel cable to logs.

No more details have been released.

The Coroner, Worksafe BC and RCMP are investigating.
