The former Mayor of Grand Forks says he’s not bringing forward complaints about the local RCMP as a political tactic.
Brian Taylor, who is running in the by-election, has gone public with reports of what he’s calling enthusiastic policing that has created discontent in the community.
Taylor says he wants a community dialogue about incidents he’s been told about such as unsafe road blocks, officers spying on people with binoculars or being intercepted outside licensed premises.
Regional RCMP say there have been no complaints from the community.
*Soon after this story aired Taylor reported he had been contacted by the RCMPÂ and they’ve arranged a meeting to discuss things.
