With some of our local schools closed again Monday can a deal in the teacher contract dispute be reached as early as this week?
The BCTF VP Glen Hansman has been quoted as saying that is possible with the two sides not as far apart on wages as is being reported.
But Kootenay Columbia Teachers Union President Andy Davidoff isn’t convinced.
Davidoff wouldn’t talk about how much sweetening is needed but says incremental movement in several areas could assist in brokering a deal.
Schools in Kootenay Columbia and Arrow Lakes are closed for another one-day strike today.
On Thursday it’s the turn of Kootenay Lake and Boundary schools.
