The Chair of the Kootenay Lake School Board figures an unexpected funding announcement from the province won’t alter their facilities plight.
The government has told BC’s school districts they don’t have to find widespread administration costs.
That means about $250,000 is back in the SD 8 budget at a time when several schools face possible closure to address long term maintenance costs.

Kootenay-Columbia School District will retain $178,000 while the boundary gets to keep $77,000.
