The Gilpin grassland wildfire near Grand Forks has grown but crews are already seeing success in containing it .
It was initially mapped at around 20 hectares mid afternoon Tuesday and then 100-hectares later in the day.
It’s now at 224 hectares.
Karlie Shaughnessy with the South East Fire Centre says they have plenty of resources on it.
Motorists will see plenty of smoke along Highway 3 but Shaughnessy says no structures or communities are threatened.
