Low river levels possible

Snow melt is effectively over already and now it’s a waiting game to see how dry our rivers will get.

That’s the outlook as we head for what might be another very dry summer.

The June 1st provincial snow survey shows the Boundary at just 16% of where it should be and the West Kootenay at 35%.

Here’s Dave Campbell the head of the BC River Forecast Centre.

We had near normal snowpack this past winter but the hot early April took it away.

Last summer we had extensive residential water restrictions and fishing bans on some rivers.
