The time is approaching for Greater Trail residents to bite the bullet on sewer treatment.
After years of discussions on how to comply with modern standards the RDKB is ready to present the very expensive scenario to the community.
Upgrading the existing sewer plant near Waneta Mall will cost about $28 million.
GM of Environmental Services Allan Stanley says the work could be a few years away but it needs to happen.
The plant currently discharges into the Columbia River , the only sewer plant in BC to be doing that into a body of fresh water .
Public open houses are set for Trail, Rossland and warfield later this month.
