RCMP say a 44-year-old Castlegar man missing since June 29 has been found dead.
Oscar Bot’s body was discovered Monday in a heavily wooded area, west of Castlegar.
Police declined to disclose exactly what led them to the discovery but said foul play has been ruled out.
RCMP and Castlegar Search and Rescue conducted an extensive search of the area for Bot, who was last seen heading west on Highway 3A at the entrance to the West Kootenay Regional Airport in his pickup truck.
Bot’s family expected him at home that evening, but he never arrived.
RCMP continue to assist the BC Coroners Services with their investigation.
“The Castlegar RCMP are once again appreciative of our local SAR volunteers and their assistance with this matter,” Cpl. Dan Moskaluk said in a news release.
