The first phase of upgrades to a popular backcountry hot springs north of Nakusp is complete.
Halfway Hot Springs has new campsites and outhouses and starting next week will have a full-time attendant.
BCÂ government recreation officer Justin Dexter says the site has had a rough time in recent years.
Dexter says in the second phase they’ll work on the hot springs themselves.
Camping costs $12 a night while day use remains free.
