Castlegar closer to decision on backyard bees, chickens

More talk of the birds and bees this week at Castlegar city council.

City staff were asked to compile a report detailing possible plans and effects of introducing backyard chicken coops and beehives.

Councillor Sue Heaton-Sherstobitoff hopes to have the vote early next month.

More than 50 people — and one chicken — were present for the council session
