Food policy council coming in November

A new group intended to close the gap between food producers and local government will soon be in place.

So says Abra Brynne, the project co-ordinator of the Central Kootenay food policy council.

The council is expected to have up to 26 members from a wide variety of sectors.

Their mandate will cover agriculture, economic development, hunger, and the environment.

It’s a joint venture of the Regional District of Central Kootenay, Community Futures and BC Food Systems Network.
