Teck sets zinc production record in Q3

Refined zinc production at Teck Trail operations set a quarterly record between July and September.

The company says it produced over 83,000 tonnes of refined zinc, up eight per cent over a year ago.

That was due to better plant availability and operational improvements.

Operating costs in the third quarter were $95 million, five per cent lower than a year ago.

Teck had a gross profit of $58 million in Trail compared to $33 million for the same period of 2015.

Company-wide Teck is reporting earnings of $234 million.
