The body of a man presumed drowned after an accident on the Columbia River in Trail on May 9 has been recovered south of Northport.
RCMP say Jeffrey David Bauder, 28, was found in the river on June 28. A US forensic examiner has positively identified the body which will be returned to Canada for funeral services.
“The Trail and Greater District RCMP wish to express their sincere condolences to Mr. Bauder’s family, and also want to thank the search and rescue personnel and other emergency services who assisted in the search,” Cpl. Darryl Orr said in a news release.
Bauder was one of three men on a Sea-Doo that capsized when it hit a wave between Sunningdale and Gyro Park.
Kootenay Boundary Regional Fire Rescue pulled one man from the water with their rescue boat while Teck Trail Operations fire crews rescued another who swam to shore on their property.
