Over $870,000 worth of grants will go to environment-based projects in our region.
The funds come from the Columbia Basin Trust’s environmental grants program and will be distributed to projects basin-wide.
Delivery of Benefits Senior Manager Tim Hicks says the projects focus on one or more of the trust’s four environment goals
He says these projects will contribute to the well-being of the basin’s diverse landscapes.
Some of the projects include aid in the recovery of whitebark pine, a Fish and Bear Lakes western toad study with the Valhalla Wilderness Society, as well as two different projects focused around the education and preservation of grizzly bears.
32 projects in total received funding.
