Teck Trail commits to sulphur emissions capture standards

Teck Trail Operations has signed an agreement to set standards for Sulphur emissions capture.

Spokeswoman Catherine Adair says the local smelter’s pact with Environment and Climate Change Canada ensures it will continue capture a minimum of 95% of Sulphur from its feeds.

Adair says Teck already exceeds this goal at a 98% capture rate.

She adds it shows Teck Trail’s commitment to continuing its reduction efforts for Sulphur and particulates.
