This week’s storm meant some lightening strikes in the area. Karlee Cashman with the South East Fire Centre says they responded to a fire north of Rialto near Castlegar, but it’s fairly small.
There was a severe thunderstorm watch in effect today as well.
Cashman says crews are prepared for spot fires.
Across the province 98 new fires were started yesterday, the majority due to lightening.
