Dangerous driving could have been a factor in Tuesday’s collision in downtown Trail. According to RCMP, just before 3:30PM, a West Kootenay Traffic Services officer observed someone who appeared to be going faster than the posted 70 kilometer per hour speed limit. Sergeant Chad Badry with West Kootenay Traffic Services says the officer turned around the pursue the driver.
“She turned around to go and pull the person over, lost sight briefly as they came around a corner and then headed towards that intersection where the collision was and then saw the collision happen.”
That same driver was arrested for dangerous driving but was subsequently released without charge. RCMP are still investigating and will determine if charges are warranted.
It happened at the intersection of Cedar Avenue and Victoria Street and one person was transported to hospital with minor injuries.
