Two secondary schools in our region appear in the top 100 of the Fraser Institute’s controversial rankings.
Their latest data – from last year – ranks Nelson’s LV Rogers and the then Rossland Secondary at 91st and 93rd overall in BC out of 293 schools ranked.
Provincial exam results, grade-to-grade transition rates, and graduation rates are used.
But the rankings have been increasingly criticised by teachers and administrators as not portraying the reality of learning environments nor do they focus on personalized learning.
