A former Trail city councillor who is running again in next month’s civic elections is suggesting local politicians are out of touch with ordinary citizens.
Fred Romano has not been on the current council. But he’ll be calling on voters to re-elect him as he has experience on the two previous councils in successful negotiations with regional neighbours.
And he’s still interested in working towards a district municipality for the better good of the area.
Romano was part of the talks that led to five year parks and recreation agreements with Beaver Valley and Warfield. Those lapsed in the wake of the bitterness surrounding Trail’s proposed expansion into Area A.
