A Trail/Rossland swim club is barely keeping its head above water due to the fee structure for Silver City recreation programs.
This from Greater Trail Stingrays president Billy Merry who says enrolment is down 50% mainly because to the Trail Resident Program that sees extra fees for non-residents.
Trail Council granted Merry’s request Monday to have nearly $6,000 worth of debt for using the Aquatic Centre this season written off.
The Stingrays were at the bottom of the list for community grants in Rossland and only received a couple of thousand dollars.
Trail is sending a letter of invitation to Rossland to restart negotiations around a shared recreation service.
