Dooley references D Day and being eaten:must be election time!

Nelson’s mayor was in full political battle cry Saturday as he welcomed guests at the Chamber of Commerce’s annual gala.

John Dooley faces what many see as his toughest election race to date and his speech was laced with rhetoric.

While referencing Remembrance Day Tuesday he even linked the risk-reward nature of business to the 1944 D Day landings.

In a reference to the regional economic development co-operation he’s been part of Dooley told the audience “….you’re either at the table or on the menu.”

Dooley says the Queen City’s population and business licences have grown year-after-year in recent times.

He knows the election support of the business community may be key on Satuday…as do fellow mayoral contenders Deb Kozak and Pat Severyn who were also at the event.
