Castlegar City Council is willing to listen but residents have to be willing to talk.
That’s from mayor Lawrence Chernoff who was re-elected for a fourth straight term Saturday.
Heading into the vote there was criticism that council didn’t communicate enough with the public.
Chernoff says if residents have input they need to provide it during opportunities like budget and council meetings because that’s what council can base their decisions on.
Chernoff says the same five residents show up to their budget consultation ever year.
The five incumbent councillors were re-elected and will be joined by Bruno Tassone who was the leading vote winner in the council race.
