A Castlegar man was uninjured when his tractor-trailer slipped off Highway 3B and flipped on its side.
Trail and Greater District officials said the detachment responded to the incident at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 4.
When officers arrived at the scene near the intersection of Ross Spur Road in Fruitvale, they found the semi-truck and trailer tipped on its side in the ditch.
Police officials said the 22-year-old Castlegar man behind the wheel did not appear to have any injuries at the time of the crash.
The driver told police he was driving around 50 km/h when the vehicle slid off the road.
RCMP officials believe that snow and ice covering the roadway played a role in the incident.
“Snow has finally arrived. Please be prepared for winter road conditions and avoid travelling in them if possible,” said Sgt. Steve Wicentowich.
