Quench your thirst with Prestige Hotels tomorrow for Good Lemonade Day and help raise important funds to help local families.

The family-friendly fundraiser sees lemonade sales turn into fundraising dollars this Saturday, June 8, 2024, as it enters its third year in a row across BC.

The staff and friends of Prestige Hotels and Resorts are excited to be leading this incredibly fun initiative for this year with the proceeds directed to JoeAnna’s House, a cause close to the company’s heart.

And Rossland’s Prestige Hotel General Manager, Jesse Steele, hopes you will join them.

“Its an initiative to raise money for JoeAnna’s House which helps host families which need to go to Kelowna Hospital.” said Jesse.

“Lots of families in our area have benefited from JoeAnna’s house, so it’s a good time to give back.”

Good Lemonade Day is in support of JoeAnna’s House, a home-away-from-home in Kelowna that provides accommodation to families from all over BC who need to travel to Kelowna for a loved one’s hospital care.

Prestige Hotels and Resorts is the proud founder of JoeAnna’s House, named in honour of our founders Josef and Anna Huber, and this fundraiser is our way of helping continuously raise funds to support its daily operations.

“We will have nice ice cold home-made lemonade for you, and some chocolate to give away.” said Jesse.

Over the years the Rossland community has rallied around the fundraiser, and they’ll be looking for continued success this time too.

“We’ve had some nice weather on those days so it’s always a good thirst crunch when it’s really hot out.”

You can catch the Rossland Prestige Hotels team out the front of the property on Rossland’s main street from 11am to 3pm.

Other Prestige Hotels and Resorts locations in the Kootenays are:

  2. Nelson Resort

Background Information

The last two years’ events each saw 70 lemonade stands across BC, and each year more than $17,000 was raised for JoeAnna’s House, a home away from home for those travelling to receive care at Kelowna General Hospital.

JoeAnna’s House is the culmination of the vision and intention of the Huber family (owners of Prestige Hotels and Resorts) especially Josef and Anna Huber. Joe and Anna had always taught the importance of giving back and the unparalleled value of a loving home.

JoeAnna’s House is the manifestation of a deeper understanding of what it means to be family, of the responsibility that we have as a community to take care of one another, especially during difficult times.

This home, which welcomes thousands of families each year, many of whom come from cities where Prestige has hotels, is a safe and comfortable place to stay while a loved one receives care at Kelowna General Hospital.

Each property will not only host a lemonade stand, but there will be additional special activities; more details to be announced soon.

This year, they hope to have 100 families and/or community groups host a stand and hit a fundraising goal of $20,000.
