The B.C Ombudsperson has declined a Grand Forks resident’s request to investigate the local installation of water meters.
The resident sent a complaint to Kim Carter claiming the BC Plumbing Code is not being followed in the city’s process of rolling out the universal water meter program.
Carter says she does not investigate every complaint.
In a letter the Ombudsperson’s office tells the resident that bringing a complaint to their attention is premature and there are other bodies that could field concerns before she gets involved.
There has been much controversy surrounding Grand Forks’ universal water metering program heading into and following the November election.
