Make a difference, volunteer with Greater Trail Hospice Society

The greatness of a community is most accurately measured by the compassionate actions of its members, and volunteers offer their time to make life better for others.

“I have been involved with Hospice for over 30 years and I have seen the profound impact volunteering has on both the clients and the volunteers. They give to each other, and they learn from each other.” said Brenda Hooper, Hospice Board Chair.

“Our volunteers tell us that when they dedicate time to take the training, they find the material very relevant to supporting others. The preparation uses a combination of theory, discussion and practice to enhance the confidence of our volunteers.”

“Our hospice programs have extended beyond supporting at end of life to navigating with people with life-limiting illness ‘up stream’, caregiver and grief support, and encouragement in advance care planning. The various trainings offered equip volunteers to serve in the areas where they are most comfortable. People can start with any training and take one or all.”

If you feel you have the heart to make a difference in your community, one person at a time, save these dates for training this season.

Nav-CARE Training: September 21
