Kootenay RONA stores launch Home Sweet Home Campaign

RONA stores in Nelson and Trail have launched their Home Sweet Home Campaign this month, raising vital funds to be donated to the Aimee Beaulieu Transition House through Nelson Community Services.

It is the first time RONA has partnered with this charity organisation and they are eager to help make a difference.

“They do a lot of work with women and children looking to leave domestic violence and abuse situations,” said Luke Adrian, General Manager of RONA Nelson and Regional Manager for Fraser Valley Building Supplies in the Kootenays’ area.

From September 1 to 30, the teams will be collecting donations from the community with an aim of raising $500 to assist local people.

“You can get involved at either of our stores in Nelson or Trail. You can donate $2, $5, $10 or anything of your choosing, with 100% of that going to the society,” said Luke.

According to the Director of the RONA Foundation, Josée Lafitte, the campaign aligns with RONA Foundation’s mission to revitalise living environments and make it easier to access suitable housing.

“Given the situation with housing right now, we thought it was important for us to support Canadians in need,” said Josée.

“The foundation is especially looking to aid victims of domestic violence and their children, low-income families and people with disabilities or mental health issues”.

The RONA Foundation

The RONA Foundation oversees the philanthropic activities of RONA inc., one of Canada’s leading home improvement retailers operating and servicing some 425 corporate and affiliated stores.

In fall 2024, the RONA Foundation is supporting 150 Canadian non-profit organisations through its Home Sweet Home campaign.

“Every person should have a safe place to live. That’s something I strongly believe in, especially given the issue of access to housing that affects so many Canadians today,” says Josée.

Community members in the region are invited to make a donation to support a local cause by visiting a participating RONA store.

Online shoppers will also have the chance to participate by making a donation when shopping on rona.ca.
