Smokies down Bucks in pre-season home game

The Trail Smoke Eaters claimed their first preseason win after defeating the Cranbrook Bucks 12 to 2 in last night’s game.

The smokies took an early lead with Callas Pierce scoring in the first two minutes, followed closely by Cash Carter.

Trail’s Noah Ziskie also found the net halfway through the first period, before the Buck’ Baden Pazdierski responded with one of his own.

Smokies’ Cash Carter grabbed his second goal just before the first break, with Trail leading 4 to 1.

Coming into second period, Trail kept their hot streak going with Gavin Jensen and Attila Lippai slotting another two in.

Blake Cotton clawed one back for the Bucks, only for Trail’s Lucas Lemieux to follow shortly after, growing the gap heading into the final period, Trail 7 to 2.

The smokies kept Cranbrook scoreless in the final period and adding another 5 goals to the tally from Cohen Carter, Drew Anastasio, Dylan Lariviere and Callas Pierce for two, making it a hat trick for the first game.
