Excessive speed lands Castlegar man out of pocket and walking

An 18-year-old Castleman man has had his car impounded and licence suspended in Trail over the weekend after he was caught travelling 45 km/hr over the speed limit.

On Saturday, September 14, at 6:10pm an Trail and Greater District RCMP officer was on patrol when he observed a vehicle travelling at 105 km/hr in a 60 zone, in the 3100 block of Highway 3B, in Trail.

The vehicle was detained roadside, and the driver was issued a $368 fine for excessive speed contrary to Section 481(1) of the British Columbia Motor Vehicle Act and his vehicle impounded for up to 7 days.

“Trail RCMP and BCHP patrol are on the roads every day conducting enforcement to keep you safer while you travel.” said Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
