Kootenay-Monashee BC Conservative Candidate Glen Byle

As the provincial elections grow near, get to know your local BC Conservative candidate for Kootenay-Monashee: Glen Byle.

Who is Glen Byle?

Glen Byle is a family-man with a background in healthcare.

Working at the Trail hospital with a specialization in ventilator and operating room maintenance, Byle is passionate about contributing to the health and well-being of his community.

His role as a union steward reflects his commitment to supporting his coworkers through challenging workplace situations.

“I’ve been a union steward for 10 years and the lead steward for six years.” said Byle.

Outside of work, Byle volunteers his time to the West Kootenay Cycling Coalition as well as coaching local kids in soccer.

“I like to see the people around me doing well and enjoying life.” said Byle.

However, its his family who are his driving force behind creating change to build a better life.

“I want BC to be a place that is good for my kids. When they grow up I want them to be able to afford to buy a house or start a small business if they want, and to be a good place to raise a family.”

The Issues: Affordability and Health

Glen wants to see a future in BC where his children can thrive, and he can’t ignore the growing cost of living at our doorstep.

“Groceries are more expensive. Housings more expensive. Transportations more expensive,” said Byle.

“I want to help bring policies that keep life affordable, gives people the freedom to pursue their passions, and make positive choices in their life.”

“A place where homeownership is achievable, small businesses can flourish, and individuals can pursue their passions while making environmentally conscious choices.”

Meanwhile, healthcare remains a hot topic this election, and Byles says with his background at the local hospital and his wife as a nurse, taking care of our health is more vital than ever.

“I am going into politics to make life better for the people of BC and the people around me. I would work hard for a healthcare system that is better than it is today, that is working well for patients, and gives good work conditions for the people providing care.”

Final Words

Byle says his experience as a leader has provided him the skills to steer and fight for the people of the Kootenay-Monashee riding, and he encourages everyone to vote in the upcoming election.

“I have a lot of experience listening to people on the front line of a situation, and brainstorming ideas to find improvements.” said Byle.

“I believe that I can use that experience to represent the people of this riding well in Victoria.”

The election will be held on October 19.
