At the monthly Commanding Officers Parade on November 6, 531’s Commanding Officer, Major Kevin DeBiasio announced the promotion of several cadets.
The promotion from Air Cadet to Leading Air Cadet were presented by 531’s Training Officer, Lieutenant Conner Horney to Latisha Baptiste and Oceane McKinney. Lieutenant Horney also presented the promotion to Flight Corporal to Connor Chandler, Magnus Baker and Johnny Phillips.
531’s Administration Officer, Lieutenant Jade Hoglund, presented the promotion to Sergeant to Dreaden Coxand Carter Langman.
531 City of Trail Squadron Royal Canadian Air Cadets 531- Background
City of Trail Squadron is the Royal Canadian Air Cadet Squadron in Trail BC.
The Squadron was formed in 1951 and has been running continuously since. For almost 75 years, the squadron has provided a low-cost activity for youth aged 12 to 18 who reside in Trail, Fruitvale, Montrose, Warfield, Rossland, Genelle, and areas in-between. The training the cadets receive include Leadership, Outdoor Survival, Music, Aviation and other skills.
Advanced summer training programs such as Power and Glider Pilot License, Music, Sports and Fitness, Range, Leadership, Music and International Exchange are also available.
Certain Cadet Training levels and advanced courses may be applied as academic credits toward high school graduation.
The Squadron meets once per week on Wednesday evenings at the Lieutenant Colonel Arnold Henry Grant Kemball, CB, DSO, Armoury, 1990 Seventh Avenue, Trail.
