If you are thinking about driving impaired, be prepared to get caught.
BC Highway Patrol is launching their ‘light up the province impaired driving’ campaign tomorrow and they are putting all drivers on notice.
“We have a constant impaired driving issue.” said BC Highway Patrol Unit Commander, Sgt Vince LeBlanc.
“Officers will be stationed across the province conducting sobriety checks on all motorists using our highways.”
“Specifically, here in the West Kootenays, the Nelson office will be posting officers between Rock Creek and Nelson conducting impaired driving check stops along the way at all major locations.”
Sgt LeBlanc says the message is clear.
“As always, drive safe, and pay attention to what you’re doing. Focus on the road and any type of impairment, whether it’s by alcohol, drugs or by cell phone, will likely result in a collision.”
