In Trail, the average rent went up to $893, an increase of $167 from the year prior.
While average rent in Nelson went up slightly in 2024.
According to data from the Canada Mortgage and Housing Corporation, the average rent in Nelson as of October 2024 was $1,113, a $6 increase from 2023’s average of $1,119:
- Bachelor: $763 in 2024, $750 in 2023 Â
- One-bedroom: $1,004 in 2024, $990 in 2023Â Â
- Two-bedroom: $1,278 in 2024, $1,255 in 2023 Â
The city’s vacancy rate also dropped to 0.2 per cent from 0.8 per cent in 2023.Â
Across the province, the average rent went up by $97 from $1,655 in 2023 to $1,752 in 2024:
- Bachelor: $1,456 in 2024, $1,358 in 2023 (+7.2%)Â
- One-bedroom: $1,627 in 2024, $1,558 in 2023 (+4.4%)Â
- Two-bedroom: $1,981 in 2024, $1,867 in 2023 (+6.1%)Â
- Three-bedroom+: $2,474 in 2024, $2,146 in 2023 (+15.2%) Â Â
