RCMP share public frustration over armed robberies

The head of our region’s RCMP says they share the public’s frustration that the person or persons behind the rash of recent armed robberies has not been caught.

Kootenay Boundary regional Inspector Tom Roy says they’re also relying on the public and their diligence to report anything suspicious.

Roy adds a criminal analyst is being brought in to go over every aspect of what they know about the four robberies in the RCMP area and the one in Nelson Friday.

Roy says they’re also looking at any possible link to a rash of armed robberies going on in the Okanagan.

On Friday afternoon the suspect fired his shotgun while robbing the currency exchange in Nelson.
