Stolen cheque book in car theft

Cheques stolen from a 75 year-old Cranbrook man on Saturday, January 11, have been cashed as banks in Trail to the amount of $2955.

RCMP say the cheque book was stolen from the man’s vehicle and they are still looking for the suspect.

The matter remains under investigation.

“Overall, theft from vehicles in the Trail and Greater District is down to very low levels. Please make sure you continue to lock your vehicles and secure your personal items.” said Sgt. Mike Wicentowich.
