Trail bridge-lighting campaign sparkles

The future of Trail’s Victoria Street Bridge lighting project is looking bright.

Communications and Events Coordinator Andrea Jolly says they’ve received tremendous support for the Downtown Opportunities and Action Committee’s Buy-A-Light fundraising campaign.

The fundraising campaign started at the beginning of month after receiving over $150,000 in major sponsorships.

The initiative plans to see 96 programmable colour-changing LED lights decorate the Victoria Street bridge.

Jolly says the Ministry of Transportation – who own the bridge – have scheduled maintenance work on the structure this summer and so the estimated start date for the lighting project is September.
