Power out on North Shore, Highway 3A closed

The power is out from Johnstone Rd. to Balfour and Queens Bay, Harrop, and Procter following a storm this afternoon.

A recording on Nelson Hydro’s outage line said some homes around Grohman Narrows are also affected.

However, electricity is still on within city limits.

Crews have been dispatched, but there’s no estimate on when the power will be restored.

Highway 3A is closed 6 km east of Nelson because of downed lines. DriveBC estimates that it will reopen around 3 p.m. There is no detour.
