The Premier is being invited to see local sawmills firsthand as they press for increased access to fibre.
The Interior Lumber Manufacturers recently toured the Parliamentary Secretary for Forests around the sites.
Castlegar mayor Lawrence Chernoff joined them and agrees the province needs to look at increasing the cut.
Chernoff says local mills are having a hard time trading raw logs with big companies who’d rather export them.
They’ve raised supply issues with the government before but didn’t get very far.
