If it’s 30 degrees outside it’s 10 degrees hotter inside your vehicle where your pet is not safe.
SPCA Nelson Branch Manager Rob Andrew is reminding the public that it is best to leave your pets at home during hot weather like this.
He says it’s not worth bringing them out even when you are running quick errands.
Andrew encourages the public to call the SPCA if they see a distressed animal in a vehicle.
