The remains of a B.C. man were buried in Trail today more than 70 years after he was killed in World War Two.
Nanaimo’s Eric Honeyman was shot down by the Nazis during the Battle of the Bulge in 1944.
Honeyman enlisted for the United States Army after his family moved from the Island to the U-S.
He received a full military funeral at Trail’s Mountain View cemetery – where other family members are buried.
What exactly happened to Honeyman during World War two remained a mystery til 2006 when Belgian hikers discovered the wreckage of his plane.
